Arlington TX — Your Seguin Cougars have been hard at work getting back to the basics after a 27-17 loss to O.D. Wyatt in week 3. With a bye week following the Wyatt game, the Cougs have had a week to get healthy and tweak items that a busy game week does not always allow. The bye week was a much needed break for everyone. “We did not do spring ball, so we have been going six weeks nonstop. It was a good break for the kids, to help them get healthy physically and prepare mentally for the opening of district this week,” Head Coach Joe Gordon stated. Offensive Coordinator Marvin Nash took advantage of the bye week by helping the offensive “identify themselves as a unit and solidify the run game and advance the passing game.” After a lighter practice week, the Cougars have amped it back up this week in preparation for the Joshua Owls. Defensive Coordinator Chris Rose said the Cougars defense has been “chomping at the bit to get back on the field” and believe it is “poised for a break-out performance Friday night.” Joshua is coming off a bye week as well, with a 2-1 record matching their win total for the last four years. “This is a game Joshua expects to win, and this is a game we expect to win, said Coach Gordon. “It’s going to be a great match up.” We hope you will come out to Joshua Friday night to support your Cougars. Kickoff is at 7:30 at Owl Stadium, 909 South Broadway, Joshua TX 76058. Show up, and be loud and proud! See you there!
